We enjoy great artwork. There are some very talented people who make their work available for anyone to use, and we would like to give them credit for their work. Some of the licenses associated with the art requires us to give attribution to the designers, but we go beyond that and give everyone the credit they deserve.

If you are the copyright holder of any image on our site, or if you are a person portrayed in one of the images, and if you feel that our use of the image is improper of in violation of legal rights, please contact us so we can resolve the issue in a friendly and speedy manner. Thank you.

In the interest of full disclosure, some of the links on this page contain embedded affiliate IDs. If enough people click the links, we might eventually earn a little bit of money. We aren’t holding our breath while we wait, though.

Miscellaneous

Aside from the icons and templates listed below, we include a variety of other images. In all of these cases, you are not permitted to copy, use, or redistribute these types of images obtained from our site, unless such permission is specifically granted adjacent to the image (unlikely).

Vendor images

We use promotional, advertising, and product images we obtain from our vendors and distributors. Such images are always copyrighted, and you may not reuse or distribute the images in any manner. If you would like to use such an image, you will have to contact the vendor directly. All trademarks and registered trademarks appearing in such images are the property of their respective owners.

Logos

We use corporate, partner, product, and service for which we are authorized through our relationship with the company, product, or service. Occasionally, we may also use a logo for which we do not have a specific authorization, but feel that such use falls under the U.S. Copyright “Fair Use” doctrine, since such use is always in direct relation to the topic.

Portraits, staff members, and other people

As with some logos, portraits of people are generally used in a “Fair Use” manner to identify the person. Portraits of our company’s staff, clients, or other related parties are used with permission of the photographer. Redistribution or other use of such is strictly limited, and requires written permission in advance. Members of the media interested in using such photos for an article should contact us for full-resolution versions of desired images. Be sure to include information detailing how the images will be used and the circulation of the media.

Snapshots

Informal photographs of places, people, and things are generally copyrighted and used with permission. Please see the individual photo for details. If no details appear, please contact us if you need more information.

Stock and other professional images

Images that do not fit into the above categories (and usually of fairly high quality) are likely to be commercial stock images, clip-art collection images, or other copyrighted images with specific distribution and redistribution rights. In general, unless we include information stating that an image is available for distribution (such as many of the icons below), you should not assume that an image may be copied, used, or redistributed outside of this site. Please contact us if you need more information about a specific image.

Icons

We use various icons from the icon gallery hosted by our Sacramento Online Services division. Most are available under some type of open-source, free license, but please read the license information carefully before reusing the icons elsewhere.
